Info/Group History
RAWSISTAZ
Literary Group was established in September 2000 and is
committed to the support and promotion of books by, for and about
African-Americans. We currently have an
online book club,
a
literary hang-out for readers and writers with approximately
600 members across the country, a review team called
The
RAWSISTAZ Reviewers with a repository of over 5000 reviews,
and local chapters in eight major cities. In addition are
our various newsletters with several thousand subscribers and our
free site services for authors. RAWSISTAZ is making an
impact on the literary world and continues to promote literature
in a positive, uplifting way.
The RAWSISTAZ Affair is our annual
face-to-face reunion/gathering with our online and offline groups,
authors, and literary friends.

The 6th Annual Event (The RAWSISTAZ Affair
2007) was held September 7-9, 2007, in Atlanta, GA at the
beautiful Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel. Our theme was
"It's a Family Affair" and we had a wonderful time sharing
with our literary family.
A special thanks to our keynote
speakers:
Gwynne
Forster,
Travis Hunter,
Toschia,
and all the featured authors, readers (especially the ladies of
WEBB
BookClub), and other attendees of our event. As
evidenced throughout the weekend, there's nothing like FAMILY!
Also, we thank
The Divine Literary Tour for sponsoring our event and
taking a part in the celebration. To the many authors,
publishers, and other literary professionals who supported our
event by sending in promotional materials, who support RAWSISTAZ
and who support African-American Authors, we thank you as well.
We also extend our gratitude to
B's Books & More, event booksellers, who ensured books were
present, despite the death in your family. Our continued
prayers to you and your family.
Thanks also to Pittershawn
Palmer of Iambia Media, our souvenir ad booklet designer
and Guy at the Sugar Hill UPS store. You made us
shine!
