"I truly enjoyed my first RAWSISTAZ Affair! I had a chance
to meet and greet readers and to network with other
authors. I found the panel discussions both lively and
informative. I hope to be on hand for many more RAWSISTAZ
Affairs in the future!"

"Thank you Tee for putting on such an energizing program.
I really did enjoy the exchange of ideas during the
various sessions. You are a trailblazer and a very
important person in the growth and development of the
African American literary community. You are definitely
refreshing. Keep up the great work and I am sure I speak
for the members of the Divine Literary Tour when I pledge

RAWSISTAZ...kudos on another successful year! Two thousand
seven (2007) marked my third experience celebrating with
you all during your RAW Affair and as usual, it was a joy
to be in the company of such positive uplifters of the
African American literary community. I enjoyed the
fellowship, the panels, the book signings and yes...the
delicious food! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of
it once more. And most of all, thank you for the welcoming
support that you showed to my daughter (Brittney Holmes)
in her first experience as a panelist for a literary
conference. Congratulations, ladies, and I wish you many
more successful affairs to come.

"Because I had never attended a RAW affair before, I
didn't know what to expect. I'm forever blessed because I
met some wonderful people. Additionally, I was given one
on one mentoring in the wee hours of the morning that
can't be bought. I'll be at the next one for sure. Thanks
Tee!"

lot of work, so please also pass on my thanks and
appreciation to all those on your team who helped -- aNN,
Kalaani, your presenters, your family, even Miss Joy!!
From the beautiful hotel setting to the food (of course)
to the presentations and forums, it was all good. Oh, and
the goodie bags -- I can't leave out the goodie bags!!"

"Tee I wanted to commend you on a great job done at the
RAW Affair, as usual. The hotel was beautiful and the
food was excellent. It was a smaller crowd than last
year but the fun was still big time. The discussion
panels were great with much information. It was truly a
pleasure to meet some people I have chatted with online
and on RAW4ALL."

"The 2007 RAWSISTAZ affair was a delightful chance for me
to put the face to so many on-line personas. It really
felt like a family reunion. The workshop and panels were
insightful and it was a wonderful opportunity to network
with both established authors and those looking to
distinguish themselves. I truly look forward to next year's
event!!!"

"RAWSISTAZ Affair 2007 was a wonderful opportunity for me
to connect with readers from around the country, as well
as, network with some of my favorite colleagues like

gave the craziest, funniest keynote I've ever heard!"

"Thank you for doing me the honor of being keynote speaker
for the conference. The entire experience was something I
won't soon forget. I met people I knew only by screen name
and enjoyed them tremendously. It was a wonderful group.
The hotel did a great job, providing excellent food and
plenty of it... You did a magnificent job. Extremely
classy."

"Each year I've attended the RAWSISTAZ Affair, it has
exceeded my every expectation. It is a chance to share
with others who share my passion for African American
literature, but more than that, it is an opportunity to
develop friendships with fellow readers and authors alike.
The entire event is well-organized, intimate, and lots of
fun."

"For years I've debated about whether
to go to a RAW event and I've allowed other things get in
the way to prevent me from going. Now I wish I could kick
myself over and over for missing all the prior events
because when I attended the 2006 event, I cannot remember
ever just relaxing and having fun, while gathering much
needed information, networking and understanding. I would
like to salute Tee C. Royal and all her staff and
volunteers for the wonderful job they have done, did, and
will do for the African-American literary community."

"The Affair was great! The speakers
were both informative and entertaining, as were the
panel discussions, and the food was absolutely
delicious. I enjoyed meeting the authors and the RAW
members. Everyone was so friendly and supportive. I've
already joined the mailing list so I'll be kept informed
for next year."Kathy J Marsh, Author of The Aura of

"The RAWSISTAZ Affair was very nice and intimate. You
don't always need a big crowd to have a successful event.
The panels were great and I appreciate the fact that I was
able to attend all of them.
I really enjoyed the men speakers, especially Omar
Tyree. He is passionate about his craft, and I believe
he wants to make a difference. I'd like to see Brian
Egeston present something. He's an old friend, but he's a
good storyteller and a comedian. He would really bring
life to a group setting.
The food was EXCELLENT. There was nothing left to do in
that department.
Again, thanks for the experience, and I look forward to
attending more RAW events."

"The RAWSISTAZ Affair is one of the most organized events I
have ever attended. I hat goes off to Tee and the members
of RAWSISTAZ for a job well done! Accommodations are
always relaxing, luxurious and convenient and within an
author's budget. The hotel served delicious and
appetizing meals as well as refreshing snacks in between
panel discussions. One thing I would love to see
is literary agents, publicists and publishing companies
present to add even more to the panel discussions. I
can't wait until 2007!"

"I had a great time this weekend at
the RAWSISTAZ Affair (2006). I really enjoyed meeting
you, other authors and reader. So please count me
in for next year and the year after and the year after
that. By the way I thought that the gift bags were a
great touch. Keep up the good work."
"2006 will be my third RAW event.
Truly, this is the most organized and professional event
I've ever attended. The RAW staff makes you feel like
family and I always leave with something. The panels are
interesting and I get to see so many people that I've
conversed with on line and others who I just can't spend
enough time with LOL. For anyone that has never attended,
it's a must. I remember my first event with just a book
mark - Tee made me feel like I was impotent too!!!
I can't wait. (misspelling intentional)"

"RAWSISTAZ in Atlanta 2005, was my
first RAW event and I had a blast! I enjoyed meeting with
old and new friends alike. I loved getting the free books,
networking with authors and listening to the panel
discussions. The best part for me, however, was the RAW
Sistaz meeting, where I met my counterparts from around
the country to exchange information on how to more
effectively run our chapter of RAW."

"The RAWSISTAZ staff did a superb job in making everything
run smoothly. They created such a warm and friendly
atmosphere and the workshops were very informative. I
always learn so much from these affairs and meet wonderful
lifelong friends.
The first RAWSISTAZ affair that I attended three years
ago inspired me to have a published book today. Thank you
Tee for being there for me and other African American
authors. You are doing such a profound job in breaking
down barriers into the publishing industry and steadily
building bridges that connect dreams and success."

"The RAW Affair 05 was the best literary event I ever
attended. There was this sense of unity and open/honest
discussion between authors and readers that I hadn't
experienced anywhere else.
As a new author, I often feel like a little fish in a big
ocean swimming around for information. Whereas this
weekend gave me and other new authors the opportunity to
get up close with authors who could guide us. I enjoyed
that it was not all about promoting/selling and more about
fellowship. I had a GREAT time. I hope to be there next
year and years to come."

"The event (2005) was awesome...The panels were really
solid, a lot of great information exchanged... networking
was off da meter--and the fun... hey, "What happened in
Hotlanta, STAYS in Hotlanta!" LOL... we had a blast!
It's like a great homecoming--family, friends, and a LOT
of sharing and love between authors and aspiring authors.
You come here to get renewed and good,
won't-read-it-in-a-book advice :)
So, as they say, it was all good! Another fantastic RAW
Affair... done well by very capable folks with purpose, on
a mission, and done with a lotta love!"

"I met and mingled with people at the RAW Affair who I
will never forget and who have also been beneficial to me
by sharing information, encouragement, advice and even
have toured to places with me. RAW Affair panels were
informative, but fun; insightful and delightful. The
events, the dinners the socialization felt more like a
literary family reunion. Coming together with people who
share a love of the written word is something that is not
only needed but commendable. Congrats to such a wonderful
accomplishment. I'll do what I can to keep the affair a
hot and spicy one. Wait, that didn't come out quite right,
did it? But then again, maybe it did."

I have only attended the RAW Affair
once and can honestly say it was a memorable experience
that will last a lifetime. Being able to connect with
people I have conversed with online and who share my love
of reading was a feeling that can't be compared. Not to
mention having some one on one time with some outstanding
authors. Since being a member of RAWSISTAZ my eyes have
been opened to some great authors I may have never heard
of otherwise. I am looking forward to the RAW Affair this
year to reconnect with those I met last year and to have a
weekend away from all the daily stresses talking about
what I enjoy most.....reading.
